The Power of YET!!!

This one little word has the power to inspire your child to achieve incredible things. ... When you use the word "yet" it tells kids that these are skills that are acquired over time through practice and effort. Instead of saying "I can't do this" think "I can't do this...YET!"

Meet Dr. Carlisle...

Hi! My name is Kathy Carlisle and I am the school psychologist at Mountain Way. This is my second year in New Jersey schools, but before that I worked as a school psychologist and counselor in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Texas. I grew up in upstate New York, and then moved with my family to Florida, where I went to high school. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Houghton College in New York, and my Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

I live with my husband and three children; and grandma lives with us, too! I also have two nephews with special needs who inspired my passion for helping children. My goal is to work together with parents and teachers to help each child at Mountain Way grow and be successful academically, socially, and emotionally.

When I'm not at Mountain Way, I can usually be found going for walks with friends, exploring local parks and nature centers, and cheering at my kids' various sporting events. I love to bake (and eat things I bake!), read, and watch comedies.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly by either email or phone. I look forward to an exciting, positive school year at Mountain Way!
