Morning Drop-Off (8:05-8:20am) Homeroom begins at 8:20am for all students PreK-2nd. Students arriving at school before 8:05 AM will not be supervised by school personnel.
- Bus Students: Students who ride the bus will be dropped off in the circle. Students will enter the building upon arrival and proceed to their classroom.
- Cars/Walkers: All students must be dropped off along Mountain Way on the sidewalk side of the car. There will be adults outside in the morning assisting students who need help exiting the car.
- Parents should NOT exit their car in the drop-off line. If you need to exit your vehicle to assist your child and/or if your child must exit from the driver side of the car, please proceed up the hill beyond the circle to park your car along Mountain Way.
Dismissal/Afternoon Pick-Up (PreK- 2pm and K-2nd- 2:50pm)
- Bus Students: Students who ride the bus will be loaded by a supervising adult.
- Cars/Walkers: The dismissal bell rings at 2:50 PM. Pick up for all students will take place in front of Mountain Way School. Please note that all students MUST be picked up by an authorized adult (authorized adults must be entered as Emergency Contacts in Genesis). For same day changes in pickup, please either send a note in your child’s backpack or call the Mountain Way Main Office at 973-538-0339. Parking is permitted along Mountain Way on the school side of the street as well along Sylvan Drive.
- Preschool ONLY- children will be picked up at the preschool playground which is adjacent to the parking lot at 2:00pm (PreK bus students will be supervised as they transition from the school to the bus).
- YMCA Aftercare: Students who participate in the optional YMCA aftercare program will be walked to the designated location in the school building.
Missed Bus or Students Left at School
Any student who has missed their bus or does not have a means of getting home after school will be brought to the main office. Mrs. Bruhn and/or the teacher will contact their parent/guardian and the child will wait in a supervised area to be picked up.
